Whether at the beach or in your back yard, the Fun Cub is a playful, multi-faceted plane that you can take anywhere. In the air, its unique combination of full 5-channel control with expansive flaps and oversized lightweight wheels ensures simple, shameless fun.  Beginners will love its manageable, slow flying characteristics and experienced pilots will enjoy its ability to perform spectacular aerobatic maneuvers.  Optional accessory floats turn this already versatile model into an attractive amphibious aircraft.

This version of the Mulitplex Fun Cub does not come with any power system components, but components are available for purchase separately:

The following power set-up provides excellent flight power for the Fun Cub:

The above set-up will provide about 60 oz thrust at full throttle, allowing for short, aggressive take-offs and rapid ascent, good airspeed and aggressive aerobatics.

Other power set-ups are also available to provide even higher power, although some upgrades may require modification to the model.  Please contact our Technical Services staff for further information about high-power upgrades.

Additional Components Required for Completion:

Here is a picture of a Multiplex Fun Cub customer built by Heads Up RC customer Tim Loehrke in the style of his 1946 Piper J3 Cub (shown in the background):

Tim chose to use our Emax GT2815/07 motor with an APC 10 x 5 propeller for high performance.  The high-visibility yellow paint is water-based acrylic applied with a high-volume, low-pressure spray gun, and topped off with water-based polyurethane sealant.  Note the addition of bungee suspension and wing struts.  Tim also recarved the servo pocket for one of the flap servos so that the servo would move in the same direction as the flap servo in the opposite wing (this is an alternative to using a servo reverser).  Tim also installed a servo beneath the fuselage to activate a parachute drop or release hook for small gliders.

Here's a great video from another one of our customers, Peter Haakonson, showing his Fun Cub on floats taking off from water and flying around the lake:
